Installation guide

On in seconds.

Both models strap over the skates you already wear with hook-and-loop straps. Here’s how to fit them.

Compact Pro Skate Fenders seen from the front, showing the strap that slides under the laces

Targeted Coverage

Compact Pro

Attachment: Front strap under the lower laces + one rear ankle strap.

  1. 1

Lace and tie your skates as usual.

  2. 2

Slide the front strap under the lower front laces.

  3. 3

Set the shell over the ankle and instep, then wrap the single rear strap around the ankle and fasten it.

  4. 4

Need your laces? Undo the rear strap and tip the Fender forward. Many players leave their Fenders on their skates between games.

A pair of Full Pro Skate Fenders: clear molded polycarbonate shells with black hook-and-loop straps

Extended Coverage

Full Pro

Attachment: Hook-and-loop straps.

  1. 1

Put your skates on and lace and tie them the way you normally would.

  2. 2

Set the Fender over the front of the skate so the shell sits evenly over the top of the boot.

  3. 3

Fasten the hook-and-loop strap(s) snugly — firm enough that the shell doesn’t shift, not so tight that it presses on your ankle.

  4. 4

Stand, flex forward and take a few strides. The shell should stay put and stay out of the way of your stride.

Check the fit

  • The shell sits evenly over the boot without rocking side to side.
  • Straps are snug and lie flat; nothing digs into your ankle when you flex forward.
  • Your stride feels normal after a few laps.
  • If the shell feels tight or loose for your skate model, contact us before your next skate — size 8 boots in particular can go either way.

Caring for the shell

Don’t use adhesives, paints, solvents or other chemicals on the polycarbonate shell. They can reduce its protective properties or damage it — and they void the warranty.
